Course description

Thinking of a career in sport and fitness? The Level 1 Diploma in Sport course gives you a range of skills and knowledge required for progression within the sports industry, providing both practical and academic challenges which will prepare you for employment and further education opportunities.

Course content

What you will study

Subjects include: Well-being and Physical Fitness, Personal Effectiveness, Employment Opportunities for Sport and Leisure, Practical Sport, Sports Coaching, and Healthy Body.

Your Course Structure

This course is an excellent mix of classroom based sessions as well as practical activities both on site and through regular visits to other facilities. Many of the classroom sessions also have practical elements to them.

How you will learn

Through class work, team sports/activities and other practicals, visits and outdoor activities.

Entry requirements

3 GCSEs at A*-G (or new grade 9-1)


Through a portfolio of work and written or practical assignments.

Financial information

Tuition and certification are free if you are aged 16-18 years old. Related additional costs may include materials, equipment, visits, residentials etc which are payable by all students.
Any student entered/registered with an Awarding Body who has been given free entry and then withdraws or is withdrawn by a tutor will incur the certification fee associated with the course. Any resit examination will incur a cost.
