Exploring the Caring Sectors BTEC Extended Certificate in at Carshalton College

Course description

These qualifications are intended as practical “hands on” programmes with each unit taught in the context of real jobs and careers in a chosen vocational sector. This gives you the chance to explore the opportunities offered in that sector, and to acquire appropriate vocational skills.


Course content

Units include:

  • Introduction to the Caring Sectors
  • Health and Social Care Needs
  • Career Progression
  • Learning Experiences for Young Children
  • Self-Management Skills Working in a Team

Entry requirements

An average of grade E for three or more GCSEs or you will have successfully completed an Entry Level 3 programme/FL Entry Programme with the full 37 credits.

A DBS check will be required.

You may also be asked to demonstrate your commitment and skills in an interview.
