Psychology A Level at The Holy Trinity Church of England Secondary School

Course description

In this course you can expect to study topics including behaviour, cognitive processes, abnormality, social processes, forensics and eating behaviour. These are investigated from a neurological, psychological and learning point of view. You will also study the nature of science and other aspects of how psychologists find things out and the statistical analysis of research findings.

Entry requirements

Grade B in a Science, grade 5 in Maths and grade 5 in English or a B grade in an essay based GCSE subject. 

Assessment

Paper 1: Introductory Topics in Psychology (33.3%), 2 hours, combination of questions: Multiple choice, short answer and extended writing

Paper 2: Psychology in Context (33.3%), 2 hours, combination of questions

Paper 3: Issues and Options in Psychology (33.3%), 2 hours, combination of questions
