L3 90-Credit Diploma in Health & Social Care at Tameside College

Course description

This is a full time programme. You will learn through a variety of methods which will aim to meet the needs of each individual and accommodate different learning styles for example, case studies, assessments, group work, practical work, projects and interactive activities. Assessment will take place internally and again, a variety of methods will be used.

Course content

'Throughout the course you will develop a range of skills and knowledge preparing you for progression either into employment within the Health and Social Care sector onto continue your studies in Yr2 of the L3 Extended Diploma in Health & Social Care. Throughout the one-year course you will study a broad range of Health and Social Care related units such as:Effective Communication in Health and Social CareEquality, Diversity and Rights in Health and Social CareDevelopment through the Life StagesAnatomy and PhysiologyCaring for Children and Young PeoplePhysiological DisordersSafeguarding Adults and Promoting Independence

Entry requirements

'You are required to have 5 GCSEs at grade A*-C including English and Science (preferable) and a minimum of grade D in Maths. You will also be required to undertake an interview and will be expected to be enthusiastic about working in the health and social care sector. You may also progress from the BTEC L2 Extended Certificate in Health and Social Care (with the required overall grade and the required English and Maths grades)
