Chemistry at Teddington School

Course description

No matter how the world changes in the 21st century, Chemistry will always be at the centre of science and help you understand the world around you. Chemistry is everywhere and without it we would not have drugs, plastics, fuels, perfumes, fireworks or spacecraft! Our exciting and stimulating programme will allow you to develop your knowledge and understanding of this key science and provide you with a range of laboratory skills that will enable you to progress as a confident young scientist at university level and beyond.

Course content

This course covers the three key branches of chemistry: organic, inorganic and physical; and also allows students to develop their analytical skills in a series of core and advanced practicals

Year 1 and 2 - Chemistry

  • 3.1 Physical Chemistry
  • 3.2 Inorganic Chemistry
  • 3.3 Organic Chemistry

Progression Route

At university, there are a huge range of degree courses available to study either Chemistry itself or combined with their subjects such as: Medicinal Chemistry, Forensic Science and Toxicology, Pharmacology. Others areas include: Chemical Engineering, Medicine, Veterinary Medicine, Biological Sciences, Environmental Science, Pharmacy and Dentistry.
