Course description

The Level 2 Diplomas in Hairdressing and Barbering are suitable for people who have taken a level 1 qualification, and/or have been working in the industry and are looking to accredit their skills and knowledge.
The qualification covers a very wide range of areas related to the skills and knowledge required for preparing to work in the Hairdressing and Barbering Industry.

Course content

You will study current cutting techniques, colouring, perming, creative styling and the wider skills needed to work in the hairdressing industry. Ideal if you are interested in improving your existing hairdressing skills.

Entry requirements

Yes, you need Level 1 Hairdressing or a grade 'D' GCSE or equivalent.  (Evidence of previous qualifications must be provided)


There will be practical assessments, you can gain a pass, merit or distinction, and this will depend on your practical skill as well as Health and Safety, aftercare advice and communication skills.  Your theory work gives you the under pinning knowledge of how to produce the practical and will consist of either on-line tests, assignments or a mixture of the two.
