L3 BTEC- Health and Social Care at Bradford Academy

Course description

If you are interested in working in Health and Social Care then this course will be for you.

Health and Social Care BTEC is available as Subsidiary Diploma (6 units- equivalent to 1 A-Level) or Diploma (12 units- equivalent to 2 A-Levels). Both are studied over 2 years.

 

Course content

Students will study 6 units which cover a variety of topics such as:

  • Public Health
  • Caring for Children an Young People

When completing the diploma you will also complete 100 hours of work experience.

Entry requirements

To progress onto this course, the qualifications you will need are 5 GCSEs grades A*-C including English.

The skills you will need to be successful are:

  • Oragnisational skills
  • Practical skills
  • Self motivation
  • Good attendance
  • Ability to meet deadlines

Assessment

100% coursework.

The course is continuously assessed through assignments. You will submit written work, which will be assessed by the unit teacher.

The following range of grades; Distinction*, Distinction, Merit, Pass will show your competence in these specialist areas.

 

Future opportunities

You can progress onto further and higher education such as Health & Social degrees at university.
