Engineering BTEC Level 2 Diploma at North Warwickshire and South Leicestershire College

Course description

Diplomas are vocationally related qualifications, where learners develop knowledge and understanding by applying their learning and skills in a work-related context.

Course content

You will study 3 core units, 4 mandatory units and 5 optional units, these include The Engineered world, Investigating an Engineered Product, Introduction to Communications for Engineering, Health and Safety in Engineering, Engineering Materials, Interpreting and Using Engineering Information, Mathematics for Engineering, Machining Techniques, Electronic Circuit Design and Construction, Electrical and Mechanical Science for Engineering, Bicycle Servicing and Maintenance.

Entry requirements

A minimum of 2 GCSEs grade D or above or pass at a Level 1 programme. GCSE Mathematics at grade D or above.

Assessment

All the units are assessed by course assignments which meet Diploma grading criteria for Pass, Merit and Distinction

Financial information

General stationary to include pens, paper, folders, plastic wallets and a calculator. H&S equipment will also be required to include steel toe capped boots and overalls.

We offer a bursary that students can apply for help with costs that are associated with a course. This could be help with the cost of travel, books, materials, equipment, uniforms, childcare and examination and registration fees.
