BTEC First Level 2 Diploma Design and Craft - Woodworking at The Friary School - an Arts & Sports College
This course covers core and specialist units. The core units include: The basics of design, such as use of colour, the qualities of line and mark-making, the relationship between shape and form and creating a range of surface textures; A folder showing knowledge of tools, equipment and materials in the specific field; Health and safety requirements and procedures. The specialist unit covers: Designing and producing a variety of finished articles in a specialist field, such as: A veneered fire screen or tray; A box with a hinged lid; Four legged table; A bowl; Carved and decorated objects in wood and stone.
