Bricklaying Level 2 Diploma at Walsall College

Course description

The Level 2 Diploma in Bricklaying is designed to develop the practical skills and knowledge of students’ enabling them to work in the Construction Industry in their chosen craft. It has been specifically developed for delivery in a training environment using simulated conditions, and the tests’ based on the student showing what they can do as an individual through the completion of all the requirements of the qualification, once you are judged to be ready, you will be practically assessed on the skills you have gained to determine your competence in achieving industrial standards. The qualification comprises: General core units, occupation specific units, synoptic practical assignment, multiple choice unit end tests, GOLA online test.

Entry requirements

Successful completion of Level 1 and Interview. All applicants will undertake an initial assessment. Candidates must show that they have the potential and opportunity to successfully gain the qualification.


Unit knowledge tests, synoptic tests assessing practical ability and external online multi choice test.

Future opportunities

Progression to Level 3 Diploma or a Construction Apprenticeship will be based upon a satisfactory reference from your L2 Personal Tutor to include professional attitude, attendance, punctuality and performance.
