Course description

The Level 3 qualification in Applied Science is a work-related qualification that focuses on the development of practical skills and underpinning knowledge in the science industry. The course will appeal to students who enjoy studying science through practical work by completing projects and assignments based on realistic workplace situations. The Extended Diploma is made up of 13 units and is equivalent to three A levels. The Diploma is made of eight units and is equivalent to two A levels. The choice of qualification will be dependent on the individual’s study programme (e.g. additionalities and/or work experience).

Entry requirements

Five or more GCSEs including Core and Additional Science or two separate sciences at grades 9-4 (A*-C) and GCSEs maths and English at grade 9-4 (A*-C).
