Course content

Year 1

Unit 1: Fundamentals Of Science. Practical skills and knowledge of techniques. 
Unit 2: Working in the Science Industry. Scientific workplace design of scientific laboratories & know about laboratory information management systems. 
Unit 4: Scientific Practical Techniques. Use analytical techniques & be able to use scientific techniques.

Year 2

You will be able to complete 3 optional units that will allow you to cover forensic elements of the course. The units available are varied but include criminal psychology, forensic photography, forensic evidence and collection analysis.

 

Entry requirements

Either Double Award Science 2x - C Grade or 2 x single sciences - C grades or BTEC Science Level2 – Merit.

Assessment

Teacher marked and externally moderated.

Progression

Foundation/BA/BSc degree in science related subjects; criminology; psychology or a wide range of disciplines.
