Course description

Offered at GCSE as a stand alone course. 2 written exams, coursework with 1500 word writeup.Topics studied include phobias, morality, memory, stress, prejudice, personal space, sex & gender, perception, conformity, obedience, aggression & attachment.

Entry requirements

Students need a wide range of skills, numeracy & literacy, scientific investigative skills,a curiosity about people's behaviour and an open mind.

Future opportunities

You could take this course to prepare for advanced level courses such as an A/AS Level in any of the social sciences or related subjects such as Law, Sociology and Religious Studies or you may need to strengthen your grades by completing a foundation or intermediate vocational qualification.With further training, you could go into a job related to the social sciences such as a Social Worker, Social Researcher or Teacher. You could also go straight into employment and do further training or part time study with the support of your employer.
