Geography A level at Woodford County High School
For both of the new exam specifications efforts have been made to introduce some of the most topical and relevant aspects of the subject for A Level students studying geography in the 21st Century. Some of these new topics (present in both specifications) are: the carbon cycle, issues relating to global water & energy supplies and elements of global politics.
There is also a renewed focus on students being able to make synoptic links between different aspects of the subject as well as a greater emphasis on the importance of fieldwork skills.
Some of the more traditional subject content has been retained but will, inevitably, be re-written to respond to current academic thinking. Such contentmight include – glaciated landscapes, tectonic processes and hazards and urban environments.
Grade A/A* GCSE in Geography.
