Health and Social Care BTEC National at Bedford Academy
Health and Social Care forms an important part of society and a range of essential job roles and responsibilities that need to be carried out in the public, private and voluntary sectors. Students that choose this rout will have a real interest in the way children and adults learn and develop and in the care for others. Students who choose the Health and Social Care BTEC route will be looking to forge a career in nursing, midwifery, social work or health education.
You will study a range of topics including: developing effective communication, health, safety and security, planning social care and working in the health sector. You will develop your skills in research, case studies, presentation skills, role play and skill development.
Level 3 BTEC courses are assessed on coursework assignments that are internally marked and externally moderated. There are no exams.
Success in Health and Social Care opens many doors for further study due to the transferable skills you will develop throughout the course.
Many students go on to complete further study at university, with popular areas of study including nursing, environmental health, nutrition and social work.
