Skills For Independence and Work : Entry Level 2 at Gateway College
This course is for students who are working towards Entry Level 2. The course is aimed at developing students skills around the four preparing for adulthood themes: Independent living skills, community inclusion, good health and employability skills.
Supported work experience opportunities and travel training are built into the course.
This course is for three days a week.
A key part of the course is students accessing the local community, visiting Tesco, Thurmaston Shopping Centre, RSPCA, City Centre and taking part in different leisure activities.
To access the course you need to show you are working at Entry Level 1.
You will develop a portfolio of units. For each unit you will be given an assignment brief and work log book. You will gain an Edexcel Diploma Skills for Independence and work qualification.
Free to all home students.
A transition meeting is held at Gateway College with a specialist Connexions Advisor to provide support and guidance about the next steps for each student.
