Sport Level 2 Certificate at MIFA (Manchester International Football Academy)

Course description


Manchester International Football Academy offer City and Guilds Level 1 Certificate in Sport we cover modules such as:

  • Improving your own personal fitness
  • Leading a healthy lifestyle
  • Participating in sport
  • Working opportunities in sport and active leisure
  • Planning, delivery and evaluation of sporting activities

During this you will also work towards Functional Skills qualifications in:

  • Maths
  • English
  • Employability and Life Skills


  • Football training upto 5 days a week
  • Improve your technical abilities
  • Improve your fitness levels
  • Gain match experience in our weekly fixtures against other professional, semi-professional and college academy teams
  • Develop your strength, agility and reactions 
  • Understand advanced game play and tactics

Course content

Modules include:

  • Participating in sport
  • Improving personal exercise and fitness
  • Leading a healthy lifestyle
  • Working safely in sport and active leisure
  • Components and function of the body in physical activity
  • Recognising opportunities for participating in leisure
  • Assist in the planning, delivery and evaluation of sporting activities

Full time football training


Functional Skills in Maths, English and Employability and Life Skills

Entry requirements

  • age 16-18
  • UK/EU resident to attend the course for free
  • Finished year 11

Free bus pass depending on circumstances.


All players receive free MIFA kit and free gym membership.
