How AS students progress
Unit 1: Physical and Human Geography
Unit 2: Applied Geography
- Study core physical and human geography, plus optional topics of
students choice in Units 1 and 3
- Consider students own values and attitudes and those of decision
makers
- Support students learning of ideas through study of specific case
studies
- Develop and use a variety of geographical skills with a greater
degree of independence, to broaden and deepen existing knowledge
What A2 students can choose to study
Unit 3: Contemporary Geographical Issues
Unit 4A: Geography Fieldwork Investigation
Unit 4B: Geographical Issue Evaluation
- A combination of human and physical geography
- Preparatory investigative work in the field to produce a fieldwork
investigation
- An issue evaluation exercise to extend the content within the
specialised context of issue evaluation
