Course description

Business Studies is a varied course, and anyone with a general interest in business structures, ethics, the economy, finance, marketing, human resources and management will enjoy it. Business is a major part of everyone’s life and anybody who has a good idea about how businesses work are at an immediate advantage in the future.

Course content

Business Studies is a valuable course which will give you an insight into the world of work. It will teach you about many different elements, including: the economy; business life; the government; why we work; setting up business and much more. The course will appeal to those students who have an interest in how businesses operate, enjoy studying a subject relevant to their own lives and experiences or would like a career in Business.

Entry requirements

Students entering the Form who have not attained grade C or above in GCSE English or Mathematics will be required to re-take those subjects in Year 12 to acquire the C or above result.

Future opportunities

Business Studies A Level provide a wide range of skills and knowledge that can be transferred into the business world or further study. The subject provides a basis for more specialised courses.
