Course description

If you want a career in the Motor Industry then this apprenticeship could be for you. The Intermediate Level Apprenticeship in Vehicle Parts is designed for those individuals who wish to work in a Motor Industry setting and who want to develop their skills and knowledge to understand the sales and customer service side of the business as well as learning about the Vehicle Parts industry. The Advanced Level Apprenticeship in is designed for those individuals who are looking to further develop their knowledge and skills to progress their careers in the sector or for those who are already employed in the Motor Industry and looking for career progression. 

Course content

Selection of units from the Diploma in Vehicle Parts Operations Level 2

  • Support for Job Roles in the Automotive Work Environment
  • Giving a Positive Impression to Vehicle Parts Customers
  • Identifying and Reporting Security Risks within a Vehicle Parts Environment
  • Selecting and Issuing Motor Vehicle Parts
  • Receiving and Storing Motor Vehicle Parts
  • Processing Returned Goods And Materials In A Vehicle Parts Environment
  • Processing Payment Transactions Within A Vehicle Parts Environment
  • & Communicating Information Electronically Within A Vehicle Parts Environment

Entry requirements

There are no specific entry requirements to study an Apprenticeship at Blackburn College. You will have an initial assessment when you come in for an interview, and this will show the level of English and maths qualifications, known as functional skills, that you will study alongside your apprenticeship.

Blackburn College will work with applicants to help find a suitable employer where possible. However we always advise anyone looking to undertake an apprenticeship to be actively seeking employment for themselves too.

You will be assessed in one or more of the following ways:

  • Discussion
  • Portfolio of evidence
  • Practical demonstration

Future opportunities

On completion of the Intermediate Apprenticeship in the Vehicle Parts programme, apprentices can further progress their careers in the sector by gaining employment as a Parts Sales Adviser or Telesales Representative, Service Department Supervisor or perhaps move into vehicle sales. Apprentices can also progress onto higher level programmes such as the Advanced Apprenticeship in Vehicle Parts or into a range of Level 3 and 4 jobs such as Parts Manager. On completion of this programme, learners can also progress on to a variety of Further or Higher Education to study subjects related to the sector including Business and Management.
