A Level Graphic Design at Great Sankey High School
The course requires students to produce a mixed media portfolio. Emphasis is put on versatility, as students are expected to become proficient in both manual and and digital techniques to develop their designs. Students will skills-based techniques in printing, stencilling, stamping as well as learning how to use industry-standard graphics software. Making BHC students versatile designers in a ever competitive creative world.
Unit 1 - Coursework Portfolio
Unit 2 - Controlled Assignment - 5 hours
Unit 3 - Personal Investigation
Unit 4 - Controlled Assignment - 15 hours
You will need to have a minimum of 5 A* - C grades at GCSE to study this course. You will need at least a GCSE grade B in an Arts or Technology subject. We also consider portfolio applications.
AS - Unit 1 is worth 50% and Unit 2 50% of the AS Grade
A2 - Unit 3 is worth 50% and Unit 4 50% of the A2 Grade
Many students go onto Art Foundation and or degrees in Graphic and Art-related fields, including Architecture, Graphic Design, Computer Games Design, Animation, Fashion Design, Art and Design and much more!
