Photography at Cottingham High School

Course description

Photography is intended for students who have a genuine interest in the subject. The course will build on your skills, knowledge and understanding acquired if you studied GCSE Art. It is expected that you will have developed appropriate attainment, understanding and skill for your programme of study to be rewarding.

You will be taught how to use a 35mm SLR Camera and Digital Camera. You will also print and develop your own films, work in a photographic darkroom and develop lighting and exposure techniques.

You will have to record observations using lens-based media and analyse and evaluate images, objects, artefacts and texts. Skills are developed to sustain investigations and you will explore a range of visual materials, processes and resources.

Entry requirements

GCSE’s at grade A*-C are generally required.
