Course description

The BTEC L3 Subsidiary Diploma in Applied Science is designed to reflect aspects of employment within science organisations or organisations that use science and enable you to develop practical scientific skills. You will study for two years, taking the Subsidiary Diploma at the end of year 13, which is equivalent to one A Level.

Examples of units studied are laboratory science, forensic science, medical science, environmental science and biological, chemical and physical science to provide a route to employment in the science industry or within organisations that use science.

This course can also lead to many employment opportunities such as a Science technician in a school or university laboratory or work in a hospital laboratory. Assessment is internal and through a variety of different means. Every unit in the course will add towards your final grade.
