Course description

This course is designed for learners who have already completed a Level 1 Diploma in Vehicle Maintenance qualification (post-16 years of age), or with GCSE grade D in Maths and English Language.

You will also have an opportunity to improve your GCSE grades or gain Functional Skills qualifications.

  • Health & Safety Practices in Vehicle Maintenance
  • Routine Light Vehicle Maintenance
  • Removing and Replacing Light Vehicle Engine components, Chassis components and Driveline/Transmission components

Entry requirements

Completion of a Level 1 Diploma in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair at post 16 years of age or two GCSEs at grade D/3 or above including English Language and Mathematics or Functional Skills Level 1 in Mathematics and English.

Assessment

Assessment methods associated with this qualification include verbal questioning, observed tasks and online tests.

Level 3 Motor Vehicle qualification or an Apprenticeship (subject to meeting the entry criteria and requirements related to this).
