Business and Administration Intermediate Apprenticeship Level 2 at Milton Keynes College
Administrators need a broad range of skills to work efficiently and to help increase business productivity. Skills shortages identified by organisations include a lack of office and administration skills, customer-handling skills, technical and practical skills, oral communication skills and IT skills, all of which are covered within the Business & Administration Apprenticeship framework.
This Level 2 pragramme is designed to reflect the work of administration staff across a wide range of industries and types of organisations, and is for those who are working with some autonomy and personal responsibility. Optional units provide opportunity to show understanding and skills in a variety of areas, including basic finance, IT, document production, communications, business resources and contributing to events.
To take part in this programme you will need:
• to be current employment in a relevant administrative setting
• a “can do” attitude
• communication and numeracy skills
• the ability to develop team work skills
• the ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
The majority of the programme is assessed in the workplace. There will be a mixture of on and off-the-job training. You will also need to gather evidence to demonstrate your competence. You will be allocated a named assessor who will guide and support you throughout your Apprenticeship programme.
Successful applicants can progress to the Advanced Business and Administration Apprenticeship Level 3 programme.
