Graphic Communication A Level at Tollbar Academy

Course description

Students will explore the key areas of Graphic Communication: design for print;
typography; illustration; brand identity. Equal emphasis will be placed on hand drawn
and digital design. Frequent workshops in industry standard digital software will help
you develop your digital skills.
Students will respond to a series of design briefs. This course will help you gain the
experience and skills needed to work in the modern day design industry.

Entry requirements

You must have an interest in different areas of design including poster design, book
illustration and logo design.
In addition to this, you will need A/B in GCSE Art. Interest is also welcomed from
students who have studied GCSE Textiles, ICT, and Technology. However, in this case, a
portfolio of Graphics related work will be required in support of your application.
