Business Information Systems BTEC Level 3 Diploma at LeSoCo

Course description

This course will prepare you for entry to higher education in information technology fields, and provides you with the essential knowledge, understanding and skills required to progress into a number of specific areas of work. By taking this course you will be able to move into a more responsible job role as a programmer/app developer, website designer, database designer/manager or systems analyst. The course will cover main modules including: Project Planning in Information Technology; Website Production; Information Technology Technical Support; Software Installation; Database; Digital Graphics; Impact of Information Technology; Developing Computer Games; and Human-Computer Interaction. Students learn through a mix of workshops, written assignments, formal teaching and self-study. If you have not already gained a C grade for GCSE English and GCSE Mathematics, working towards this will form part of your programme of study.

Entry requirements

Four GCSEs at grades A*-C; one of which must be GCSE English or GCSE Mathematics. Or successful completion of a Level 2 substantial qualification in a related subject - plus an initial assessment that indicates an appropriate level of English and mathematical ability, and a satisfactory reference.

Future opportunities

Successful completion of the course can lead to entry to university, as the successful completion of this course is equivalent to three A-levels.
