Extended Project Qualification at Archway School

Course description

Archway Sixth Form is offering all year 13 students the opportunity to complete the Extended Project Qualification. It’s an exciting qualification that puts students in control, enabling them to explore something of real interest. The Extended Project Qualification is worth half a GCE that will earn extra UCAS points and teach skills that are valued by universities and employers.


Course content

There are four types of Project to pick from:

  • Write a dissertation
  • Produce an artefact, like a sculpture, model or DVD
  • Develop and showcase a performance (sport, drama or music)

Entry requirements

You need to be studying a level 3/ A level course at Archway Sixth Form.


The Extended Project has no exams, just coursework and suits students that are self- motivated and enjoy working independently

Financial information

The 16-19 Bursary Fund is made available from the Government – to provide assistance to students whose access to, or completion of, education is inhibited by financial constraints or barriers. Further information regarding eligibility and application forms are available from the sixth form.

Future opportunities

You will learn essential transferable skills, it will help to boost your UCAS points and provide evidence of in-depth independent study.

The Extended Project Qualification is being increasingly used by universities as the basis for interview discussion.
