Course description

The Level 3 90 Credit Diploma in Public Services is a one year programme will give you an insight into the different uniformed services, from fire-fighters, the army and the police to mountain rescue. This qualification will help you understand the importance of team work and effective communication within the Public Services. The natural progression is to the Year 2 Level 3 Extended Diploma in Public Services

As a student on this course, you are eligible to apply for one of our Sports Academies.

Course content

This is Year 1 of a two year Extended Diploma course. In Year 1 students complete the 90 Credit Diploma and in Year 2 top-up to the Extended Diploma in Public Services. The course provides an introduction to the public service sector and you may complete units such as Government and Politics, Fitness Testing and Leadership & Teamwork.

Entry requirements

Four GCSEs at grades A*-C/9-4, including English Language and Mathematics. Alternatively, you must have GCSE English Language and Mathematics at grade C/4 and a Level 2 (Extended) Certificate in a related subject at Merit or Distinction.

Future opportunities

You can progress from the 90 Credit to the full Level 3 Extended Diploma which gives learners the opportunity to progress to university or gain employment in the uniformed services.

    • The site at Kingston Hall Road is the College's main site and houses the Student Registry and Welfare departments as well as Deli KC and the ACT Theatre.  The Arena Sports facility and Arena Hair and Beauty are both attached to this building, which also houses the central administration facility for the College.
