Public Services EDEXCEL BTEC Certificate Level 3 at Duchy College
This programme is for those who aspire to careers in technical trades or commissions in the Armed Services or entry to the civilian emergency or public services. The Level 3 Certificate in Public Services is broadly equivalent to one GCE AS level. It is the first qualification of the four part Level 3 qualification which leads to the Level 3 Extended Diploma in Public Services. The Level 3 Extended Diploma in Public Services is equivalent to gaining 3 Vocational A-levels and attracts UCAS points that equate to similar-sized general qualifications within education institutions in the UK.
You will study the following mandatory unit :

Police Powers in the Public Services
Behaviour in Public Sector Employment
Enhancing Public Service Delivery Through the Use of ICT
Environmental Policies and Practices
Entry requirements are 4 or 5 GCSEs grade C or above which may include Maths or English (depending on Cornwall College individual centre requirements). Students must have an interest in the work of the Uniformed Public Services and need to be fit and well enough to take part in physical activity as part of your course. There are core units which are practical based and an active participation is an essential part of the course.
On completion of the Level 3 Certificate you can progress onto the Level 3 Subsidiary Diploma in Public Services.
