Health & Social Care Apprenticeship at CT Skills

Course description

This programme is designed for people who work for around 30 hours a week with disabled or elderly adults. This is an Apprenticeship so you earn as you learn. skills and knowledge that you apply in the work place can be used as evidence towards your qualification. An assessor will work with you through one to one sessions, small group session and observations to support your development in the role. this framework covers roles including:

· Care Assistant

· Key Worker

· Healthcare Assistant

· Support Worker

Mandatory Units that are covered within the framework are:

· Principles of safeguarding and protection in health and social care

· The role of the health and social care worker

· Introduction to Communication

· Introduction to Personal Development

· Introduction to Equality & Inclusion

· Introduction to Duty of Care

· Implement Person Centred Approaches in Health & Social Care

· Contribute to Health & Safety in Health & Social Care

Entry requirements

Entry Level 3, Lived in the UK for 3 Years or more, come from EU member country or a British Citizen. Aged 16-19, Not in any form of Education, Training or Employment.

Key information

  • Start date: Throughout the year
  • Duration: You can learn at your own pace (within reason) but it usually takes about two years. Training and assessment mostly takes place in the workplace. There will also be some classroom-based work.
