Mathematics with Statistics AS and A Level at Thomas Whitham Sixth Form

Course description

This a level is ideal for non-physicists and goes well with any combination of subjects eg the statistics components can be useful to Biologists, Geographers and Psychologists. 

In AS, the three modules provide a foundation to Pure Mathematics and build on the probability work covered at GCSE.

In A2, Pure Mathematics is further developed and the statistics concentrates on developing the different distributions available.

Entry requirements

Mathematics GCSE grade C or better.

Advanced Level Mathematics students are in an extremely good position when applying for any university courses even when the course is not related to Mathematics. 

Obvious university courses related to this Advanced Level include Mathematics, Statistics (or a combination), Accountancy, Finance & Mathematics, Economics & Mathematics, Mathematical Education (Teaching), Biomedicine and Medical Statistics, Medicine, Psychology and Statistics…..the list goes on.
