Business Studies at Denefield School
Year 12 students study two modules which cover:Planning and financing a business - Studentsinvestigate starting up a small business andgaining financial backing. Managing a business -
Year 13 students study two modules which cover: Strategies for success - Students look at thecore themes of setting objectives, measuringperformance and devising strategy by focussing on finance, operations, marketing, human resources and departments within a business. This unit is externally examined and will be based on a case study issued in the examination.The business environment and managing change - Students look at the relationship between businesses and external factors through the study of the business environment and managing change. This unit is externally examined and will be based on a pre-releasedresearch task.
To study the full range of AS Level subjects you will need to have achieved an average of 46 points from your GCSE qualifications (mostly B grades +) and, a minimum of B grades in science and/or mathematics should you be applying to study these subjects.
