Economics A Level at Longfield Academy
The course covers both macro and micro economics. Students will learn theoretical models and apply them to current economic trends. Students will be encouraged to develop a critical approach and understand disagreements that exist between economists. Students will acquire skills in quantitative methods, such as use of index numbers, statistical analysis and drawing graphs.
Overall requirement for Post 16:
5 A* - C at GCSE (English and mathematics grade 4). Max 2 BTECs at merit can count.
Subject specific requirements:
5 in maths and English.
All 3 modules are examined by a written paper of 2 hours at the end of the course.
Careers in the financial sector, ICT, teaching & education, business sector and engineering.
