Sport BTEC Level 3 Extended Certificate at Cardinal Heenan Catholic High School

Course description

BTEC studies are a range of courses that offer learners the opportunity to work in a vocational context, allowing areas of study to be viewed in a work based environment'. If you have chosen to pursue a BTEC in Sport then you are a learner who enjoys hands-on, practical work with plenty of real life situations to get stuck into. If you have never studied a BTEC before, don't worry as everything will be explained in lessons.

Course content

Units Covered (Exam Assessment)

  • Unit 1 - Anatomy and Physiology
  • Unit 2 - Fitness Training and Programming for Health, Sport and Well-being

Additional Coursework Units (Single and Double Option) 

  • Unit 3 - Professional Development in the Sports Industry 
  • Unit 4 - Sports Leadership

Entry requirements

5 GCSE grades A*-C (to include English, Mathematics and Science)

Assessment

BTEC Sport Within your BTEC course you will study a variety of Units and these will be looked at over the course of over one full term (depending on the length and depth of the unit). Internally assessed units will be broken down into a series of manageable and imaginative tasks, that will allow you to express yourself throughout the programme, giving you the maximum chance of success.
