Religious Studies A Level at Bacup and Rawtenstall Grammar School

Course description

Past, Present and Future meet in our classroom. Religious Studies examines key issues and questions facing humanity, through a study of philosophy of religion and ethics. This subject is both stimulating and helpful in preparation for life. Religious Studies is at the ‘cutting edge’ of the philosophical enquiry and deep thinking skills coveted by top universities. Careers such as Law, Medicine, Police, Teaching, and many others benefit from skills and ideas discussed in lessons. You will become passionate in argument and will be put to the test in defending your views. We can’t guarantee any definite answers to the future of humanity – but you will end up knowing more about life, and yourself. As one of our students said, “I chose RS although I was not particularly religious. It has turned out to be a great choice because it is so different from anything else I have studied and challenges me to think much more deeply than I have ever done before.”
