Engineering at Greater Peterborough UTC
Course description
The Engineering course at the GPUTC is for those that are interested in trying a number of varying engineering strands including systems automation and control, electronics, robotics, mechanical and electrical to name a few. Our Engineering course allows you to work with your head and hands allowing you to combine practical skills with A Levels. As part of the Engineering course at the Greater Peterborough UTC we integrate real life work experience into the 2 year programme with some of our fantastic sponsors and industry partners.
An example week at the Greater Peterborough UTC:
• You may be out with our sponsors and partners (Anglian Water, Larkfleet Group, Marshall Aerospace, Perkins) working on real life work projects at their workplace for a day per week.
• Spending 1/2 days back at school in the week in the Engineering workshops putting into practise the skills that you learnt out at the workplace
• Spending the other day of the week on your chosen A Levels
Each week will be different and offer something new to you as we believe in variety and mixing things up. We believe our students should get real life work experience with the best in the industry so that you leave us as well rounded individuals.
