Are you interested in human behaviour and what makes humans behave as they do? Do you want to work with people? If so, you may enjoy Psychology A Level. On this course, you'll develop an awareness of how psychologists understand human behaviour from a variety of different psychological perspectives, and study factors such as the effect of the brain or the influence of other people upon behaviour.
At A2 level, you will study topics such as relationships and the influences of evolutionary factors on human behaviour. You will also gain an understanding of a number of perspectives that have
formed the basis of psychology. You will have the opportunity to further develop your skills by carrying out an investigation into a relevant psychological area.
In year one, you'll cover such subjects as:
* memory - the most complex entity in the human brain
* psychological studies of parent/child bonds
* causes of mental health problems
* the causes and effects of stress
* the impact of social factors upon behaviour.
In year two, you'll look at three areas of psychological research:
* eating behaviour and intelligence and learning
