Performing Arts Diploma at Bridlington School Sports College

Course description

This is a highly practical course which enables students to work and develop their skills in drama and performance. They will learn how the acting industry works, about employment in the industry and about performing in the theatre. The course also provides candidates with essential technical skills in a number of theatre genres.

During the course students complete the following two mandatory (compulsory) units:

* Performing to an Audience
* Principles of Acting

In addition you can select from the following units:

* Devising Plays
* Theatre in Education
* Musical Theatre Performance
* Drama Improvisation
* Script writing
* Marketing for the Performing Arts
* Site Specific Performance
* Performing with Masks

Entry requirements

The basic course entry requirement is 5 grade 'C' passes or above at GCSE.

An interest in, and enthusiasm for, drama and the performing arts and the confidence and willingness to perform in front of an audience. A grade C or higher in GCSE Drama or Expressive Arts is helpful, but not compulsory.
