Modern Languages GCSE at Sir Harry Smith Community College
In Key Stage 4 students may opt to continue learning a foreign language and will also be given an opportunity to study two languages. The AQA GCSE course builds on the approach - they do coursework writing in Year 10 and this is moderated both internally by staff and externally by the Awarding Body AQA.
You could take this course to prepare for advanced level courses such as an A/AS Level in Modern Languages and specialise in French/German or you may need to strengthen your grades by completing a foundation or intermediate vocational qualification. With further training, you could go into a job related to Languages such as a Teacher, Translator, or you may wish to use your French/German qualification to study or work over in France/Germany. You could also go straight into employment and do further training or part time study with the support of your employer.
To find out more about this qualification, contact us, ask your Connexions Personal Adviser or school/college careers staff. Contact Enquiries for further information. Delivery: Usually as part of a full-time programme
