Information Technology (Double) BTEC Level 3 at East Norfolk Sixth Form College

Course description

This course will be particularly suitable if you wish to prepare for a career in the IT and computing industries and related areas. It will appeal to you if you want a programme of study that is intellectually challenging and want also to carry out practical work and be creative. Students will be given the opportunity to develop a range of skills, techniques, personal qualities and attitudes that are essential for a career in the computing sector.

The Level 3 Diploma is equivalent to 2 A-levels and takes up 2 timetable blocks. Alternatively, you could complete only Year 1 of the course and gain the Subsidiary Diploma which is equivalent to 1 A-level.

Entry requirements

Grade C in at least four GCSEs. Preferred passes are in English Language and Maths.


Awarding Body – Edexcel

The course is continually assessed throughout the year through assignments, projects and reports. Many of these assignments are practically-based using IT applications.

Further information

The Level 3 Diploma course will provide you with the equivalent of 2 A levels and can be used to progress to higher education or employment.
