Professional Cookery (Preparation & Cooking) Level 3 Diploma at South Cheshire College
Are you our next Master Chef? This course will give you the skills and confidence you need to pursue a career as a Senior Chef or progress on to university. You'll learn how to create a diverse range of fine dishes to a high standard and discover the secrets behind creating delicious sauces. At this level you'll be given the opportunity to enhance your supervisory skills by overseeing the Chef Assistants in the college kitchens during food preparation. This, combined with the opportunity to provide catering at large corporate events, will help you build your CV and increase your employability. Diploma students will work on a rota basis in all production areas of the department to gain vauluable all round experience, including satellite kitchens and restaurants.
This course will cover a variety of units. Examples of these units include: Health and safety/Team Work - Prepare and cook complex fish, meat, and poultry dishes - Prepare and cook a wide range of complex soups - Prepare and cook a wide range of complex pastry dishes - Prepare and cook complex dough and bread - products. You will continue to build on your Maths and English to GCSE grade C
City and Guilds level 2 Diploma in Professional Cookery
Successful completion of this course can lead directly to a wide range of higher education courses such as HND's, foundation degrees, and degrees. Advice will be available from the team throughout the year. The completion of this course can lead to a variety of responsible positions with in the catering industry which is vibrant, exciting and diverse. It can offer many opportunities and promotion here and abroad.
