Barbering Level 2 at Wiltshire College

Course description

This course is an ideal progression for anybody wishing to develop skills in gents hairdressing and barbering.

Course content

You will learn how to shampoo and condition the scalp and hair, cutting hair using basic barbering techniques, cutting facial hair, drying and finishing men's hair and how to create basic patterns in hair. You will develop skills in customer service, consultation and health and safety.

Entry requirements

4 GCSEs at grade D or above (or equivalent), including English and Maths.

Successful completion of relevant subject at Level 1.


You will be assessed in the 'Aspire' college hair salon and during your work experience (if there is a qualified assessor in the salon).

Written tests are on-line and Multiple choice.

A minimum of 3-hours a week home study is required.

Final Qualification: Level 2 Diploma in Barbering

Future opportunities

You could progress into further training on a Wiltshire College Advanced Apprenticeship or into the industry as a trainee barber.
