Entry To The Uniformed Services L1 Diploma at North Lindsey College

Course description

The course is aimed at students who are interested in a career in one of the uniformed services such as the Royal Navy, Royal Marines, Army, Royal Air Force, Police, Fire Service and Prison Service. 

Course content

As part of this course you will study the following topics: 

- Plan and Prepare Activities 
- Learn to Navigate 
- Team Skills 
- Self Discipline 
- Dealing with Emergencies 
- Improve Fitness Levels

Entry requirements

To be eligible for this course you should have four GCSEs at Grades D- E or above, typically including English or Maths, or have successfully completed an entry level programme, with some Maths and & English qualifications. You must be able to run 1.5 miles in 16 minutes.


Your progress will be continually assessed through practical and assignment based activities and completion of a course portfolio.

Future opportunities

Upon successful completion you will generally be able to apply into one of the uniformed services. Previous students are now working in the Army, Navy, RAF, Police and Fire Service. Opportunities to progress to Level 2 Diploma in Uniformed Services or Level 2 Sport will be available to successful students, with appropriate levels of Maths and English.
