Hair and Beauty Sector (Hair) Introduction Level 1 Diploma at Chichester College

Course description

This exciting course offers you an introduction into a variety of different hair and beauty services offered in industry. This course is a good starting point especially if you are not sure which sector you are suited to most. On this course you will undertake units such as manicure, make-up, styling hair, use of temporary colouring and many more.

Course content

You will study a variety of both theory and practical units such as:Nail Techniques, introduction to Hair and Beauty, Professional Image, Make-up , Styling hair, Shampoo and conditioning, Create an Image, Skin Care, Temporary Colouring of the hair and more. You will also be required to complete work experience as part of the course. Within your study programme you will also take functional skills or GCSEs to develop your English and Maths skills. 

Theory and practical lessons will be delivered . Much of the learning process will be student centred and will require commitment, dedication and the ability to conduct independent research. Lessons will be in a creative and fun learning environment , where you will also work on clients. 

Entry requirements

No previous experience or qualifications needed, just an interest in the Hair and Beauty industry.

Assessment

You will be assessed practically and with written assignments that are graded pass, merit or distinction.

Future opportunities

Progression upon successfully completion of the course to level 2
Hair, Beauty or Barbering or and apprenticeship with in Hairdressing. If
wanting to go straight into industry then this course will prepare you to
work as a salon assistant.
