Course description

With an ever changing world, continuing to study Science in the Sixth form will help students to understand and respond to this innovation.
In Science we achieve good exam results, where students have achieve the top grades.
With our guidance, and variety of courses on offer, the department will help students achieve the best possible grades.
The aim of the course is to build, and develop the necessary skills, techniques and attitudes to begin a successful professional career or move on to Higher Education.
It will give an understanding of the employment opportunities available in the applied Science sector, so that students can progress into a specific area of work, and if already in employment, move on to a more responsible job or prominent position within the industry.
Applied Science is coursework based. It looks at fundamentals of Science and its place in industry. There will then be specialist modules depending on the pathway followed.
Forensic evidence and collection, Perceptions of science, Forensic collection, analysis and packaging, Criminal psychology
Physiology of Human Body Systems,
Physiology of Human Regulation and Reproduction, Biochemistry and Biochemical Techniques, Microbiological Techniques
Within the course there will be opportunities to specialise in areas such as Biology, Forensics and Medical Sciences which allow you to find an educational path that leads to your desired career.

Entry requirements

Entry Requirements:
5 A*-C GCSE including Science GCSE Grade C
