Health & Social Care BTEC Level 3 90 Credit Diploma at Havering College of Further and Higher Education

Course description

You will study 12 units that will provide an overview of the care industries and enable you to gain a good working knowledge and understanding of the various roles within the sector. You will work to generate evidence for a personal and professional portfolio that will demonstrate your development over the duration of the course.

You will also complete work experience in different settings to develop your skills in the care industry.

If you have not yet achieved a grade C (or above) in GCSE English and maths, you will be required to attend GCSE resit sessions (if you achieved grade D) or functional skills sessions (if you achieved grade E or below).

Entry requirements

  • At least 4 GCSEs at grade C or above (including English & maths)
  • A good reference
  • A DBS criminal record check (£44 to process)


You will complete practical projects and written assignments that are based on realistic work place situations.

Future opportunities

You could progress onto the 2nd year of our extended diploma in health & social care as this course acts as the first your of study for that course.

Employment opportunities could involve work as a practitioner in the health & social care sector.
