Construction Beginner (Entry Level) at Bedford College

Course description

This study programme will provide you with the skills and knowledge required to carry out a range of introductory construction techniques to the standards agreed by leading industry bodies. The programme will widen your understanding of the industry, providing you with an excellent starting point to progress on to further study, or into industry.

Entry requirements

No formal exam results needed – entry subject to interview.


Assessment will be continuous throughout the course, and will consist of research, assignments, and practical assessments.

Future opportunities

This study programme will provide you with an excellent starting point to progress onto further study at the College, or into a career within maintenance operations or a chosen construction trade.

Further information

To take part in this course there will be an additional fee of £20 to pay for clothing/uniform. You will be expected to purchase books at the cost of £20 to aid your studies. You will also need to pay £10 to attend educational event(s) that complement your course. You will also be required to provide your own steel toe caps and Hi-Vis waistcoat.
