Course description

While developing your practical skills you will study the pre-production and production stages of media work as well as investigating media texts, media representations and the media industry.

Course content

AS course: 1st Year

  • MS1 - Media Representations and Responses
  • MS2 - Media Production Processes (coursework)

A2 course: 2nd Year

  • MS3 - Media Investigation & Production (coursework)
  • MS4 - Media - Text, Industry & Audience

Entry requirements

An interest in the media. GCSE English at grade C or above. GCSE average 4.0 or above including 5 C grades.


50% practical coursework 50% exam

Future opportunities

You will develop a range of practical and theoretical skills which could lead to employment or further study at HND or degree level in media and careers in broadcast or print journalism, advertising, media production or public relations.

Further information

You can take part in trips to media museums and cinema and enter your work into competitions.
