Psychology at The Castle School

Course description

Psychology is good choice for anyone interested in trying to understand human behaviour. It is a popular course with a strongly scientific approach to exploring the social and cultural variations of individual behaviour. It covers psychological theories and perspectives, research, terminology, concepts and methods and will develop skills of analysis, interpretation and evaluation and application. Familiar real-world themes, issues and debates will be assessed from various psychological viewpoints and students will develop an understanding of the ethical issues and research methods used in psychological investigation. Many students go on to study Psychology at university after thoroughly enjoying this demanding, but stimulating, course.

The emphasis will be on Psychology as a science throughout the course and the application of theories and findings in real life. There is more science in this course than you might expect.

Entry requirements

Minimum grade B in GCSE English, Mathematics and Science are ideally required.
